
Now in its 15th year, the DC JazzFest offers 150 performances in 40 different venues over a 16 day June blitz from the 1st to the 16th for every possible taste and pocketbook from pricey headliners and $40 valet parking for the well-heeled aficionado at The Anthem; to tribute concerts in partnership with The Kennedy Center; and Jazz in the ‘Hoods with citywide partnerships in 20+ neighborhoods including a FREE Chuck Brown Band at the Congress Heights DC Gateway.

For the 9th consecutive year, Jazz in the ‘Hoods will include a major presentation from CapitalBop. One of DC JazzFest’s distinctive partnerships, CapitalBop presents vibrant, fresh, original expressions by cutting-edge musicians at alternative venues and pop-ups.

This year’s show, titled CapitalBop’s present futures at the DC JazzFest, will take place on June 8 and will include headlining sets from Georgia Anne Muldrow and Justin Brown’s Nyeusi.

So, from GO GO IN-The-HOOD, to SNARKY PUPPY and the BRASS-A-HOLICS at The Anthem on the closing weekend, the DC JazzFEST offers an eclectic city-wide music smorgasbord of all varieties and venues including h home town favorites in comfortable surroundings like torch singers like Julia Nixon at Mr. Henry’s on Capitol Hill to traditional jazz performers like Marshall Keys at The Honfleur Gallery.

Spotlighting the District as a vibrant cultural capital, Jazz in the ‘Hoods brings a stunning array of music – from the traditional to the Avant Garde – in all quadrants of the nation’s capital, with performances at more than 20 neighborhood venues.
And a new competitive music playoff – DCJazzPrix, an international band competition at the Pearl Street Warehouse @ 33 Pearl Street, SW.
