Will Downing confirmed his comeback at Saturday’s WHUR Night at the Berks Jazz Fest, filling the Santander Performing Arts Center to the rafters with several busloads of loyal WHUR fans from the DMV!

After surviving a life-threatening autoimmune disease several years ago, Will Downing – AKA “Chocolate Thunder” was back to his smooth delivery as he teamed with Oakland back-up Super-Sized singer Monae to nail the classic wedding song duet “Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This”.

Joined by Howard Hewitt of Shalamar fame with several opening numbers featuring off-the-stage and on the floor serenades of the ladies in the premium seats, and Avery Sunshine who added to the Sweet Sexy Soul with a tribute to her husband and side man in the band, celebrating their fourth anniversary with a love song on stage.

The beauty of the Berks Jazz Fest is its ability to mix in a blend of Sweet Soul to their loyal fans from DC, Maryland and the Philly area supported by signature ‘Urban’ radio giants like WHUR!
